With incumbent Mayor Eric Adams embroiled in legal scandal and polling in the single-digits for a re-election effort in June, many New Yorkers are ready for a change. The COVID-era chaos and economic uncertainty, as well as the present threat of a second Trump administration on New York, peaked through on Tuesday night as Downtown Manhattanites gathered to hear from a class of prospective city leaders, but an overall spirit of optimism and hope permeated the forum.
